Sunday Brunch: Pancakes take one and a mini diy

Home made banana pancakes with maple syrup.

It's Sunday! Weekend is over, but looking forward to this new week.
I have lots to do and I'm still on the hunt of the perfect agenda-notebook. I must find one this week!!
(Well since I have taken so long to write this post it is already Monday)

Anyway, I am sharing some photos I took of what I made for brunch-date I prepared last Sunday for Nino and I: these pancakes were sooooo good, my mouth is watering while I am typing....

Table set, all ready to be eaten
Since we now have our new sofa (yay) I was able to move the table right next to the balcony, in order to get natural light on the table.
We had milk in a milk jug and juice in a pretty jug. All so civiliced!!

Fresh fruit:  To go with the pancakes we had bananas, mandarines, choco chips and walnuts.
This is how the pancakes looked from the sky.
Milk jug and pancakes

I just love this little jug I got at a flea market for an euro last winter. I try to use it as much as I can.
It has been repaired... we had a little accident with one of her back legs. Lucky enough Super-glue exists, so we just stuck it back on again (whoops!).

That looks so yummy!!!
Love how the table was set. We don't usually use tablecloths (not usually = never), but since this was an especial occasion I decided we needed one.
Of course, we don't use tablecloths so we don't have any, so I decided to take a nice piece of fabric out of my stash and just put it on the table to "dress it up".
It turned out we really liked it, so I will be hemming it on the sides to avoid the fraying and will be using it again in the future.
At "ta-dah" a nice table runner for about 40 cent, not bad, uh?

Smiling pancake
The pancakes turned out much better than expected, we just couldn't stop eating them!
We used this recepie and I can assure we will be having them again.
Even my pancake couldn't stop smiling.

My beauty in the morning and my little diy
This is me in the morning (ok, I put some mascara on!), just about to have this yummy breakfast.
My mini DIY are the curtains!
I like plain white curtains since these are the ones that let the most sunshine in, but they look boring. So, inspired by this post I decided to cut out some bird silhouettes out of a nice and bright piece of pink felt and stick them to the curtain.
We live in an area with lots of dust, and since we have nice weather, the windows are always open, so the curtains get dirty very fast (ok I might be a bit obssessed with having clean curtains), so they are constantly being washed. In order to avoid the little birds to get all scrunched up in the washing mashine and since ungluing/unstitching them each time was not an option, I just stuck them with a pin.
Since the felt is quite thick, the curtain is full of "free birds" J that don't move an inch.

And to celebrate the end of a week, these are a bunch of things i liked this week:

  • Like chalk paint but can't find the perfect colour? This tutorial is the solution!
  • How perfect is this paint by numbers project???
  • Want Need this perfect dress! Great styling, yet so simple.
  • I have a few ziccinis in the fridge, might try this recepie.
  • I wouldn't mind living here (most perfect colour sofa ever) or here.

Man I love pancakes, especially when made with buttermilk and served with whipped cream, fruit and maple syrup! Always a great thing to eat on the weekends. Savoury baked things are my favourite as well, they feel a little healthier than their sweet counterparts. :)

Sounds like you had a lovely weekend!
